Filter Cleaning / Storage Information
Perma Pools is no longer offering the option to clean and store filter(s) for the winter.
We recommend that you clean your filter(s) before storing them for the off-season. Fill a container with at least 5 gallons of water, add 1 quart of filter cleaner to the water, and mix. Soak the filter overnight in the solution (flip halfway through to clean both ends). Spray the filter off with clean water and allow to dry.
DO NOT store your filter cartridge(s) outside or inside of your filter tank. Please store filter(s) in a safe, dry space until the pool is opened.
Filter Cleaner can be purchased at both Perma Pools locations, or delivered at pool closing upon request.
Pool Closing FAQ
Since the water is not circulating, there is no need to add any chemicals to the water over the winter. If you have a culvert system, you will need to monitor the culvert to make sure groundwater is being pumped out throughout the winter.
You will also lose water in the pool due to evaporation & displacement; we normally remind everyone to add water prior to pool opening, but you will want to monitor the water level to make sure it is not dropping too low. You can tell where the water level is by how far down the cover is
sagging. If you need to add water, DO NOT OPEN OR REMOVE YOUR POOL COVER. You can slide the garden hose underneath the cover or through the skimmer access on the concrete deck.
